Our Doctrinal Position

Section 1 - The Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament’s to be the verbally and plenarily inspired and inerrant word of God. We hold the Bible as originally given through human agents of revelation to be infallible and the only guide for our lives, faith, and practice.

We believe in the literal interpretation of scripture with respect to context, grammar, and history. (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:21; Matthew 5:18)

Section 2 - The Godhead

We believe in God, who is revealed in Scriptures as subsisting in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, yet One being, essence and power.

Section 3 - The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the supernatural birth of Jesus Christ, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, the incarnate Son of God, Immanuel, God with us. (Matthew 1:20-23; Luke l:35; John 1:1-3; John 1; 14; Colossians 1:16, 17; Hebrews 1:8)

We believe that the Lord Jesus lived a sinless life and that He died as a perfect substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all men... (Romans 3:24, 25; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 3:18)

We believe in the physical resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and His glorified bodily presence at the right hand of God as our High Priest and our Advocate. (Matthew 28:5-7; 1 Corinthians 15: 4-8; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:24)

Section 4 - The Holy Spirit

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, who is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, and who at the moment of conversion, baptizes and seals the believer into the Body of Christ, immediately indwelling him. (John 14:16,17; John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13, 14)

Section 5 – Angels

We believe in the reality and personality of angels, both good and fallen, including Satan, the enemy of God and man, whose opposition is ever increasing but whose ultimate doom is sure. (Psalm 103:20; Job 1:6,7; Matthew 4:11; Luke 2:13; Hebrews 1:14; Revelation 20:10)

Section 6 – Man

We believe in the creation of man by a direct act of God, and that he fell into sin, and thereby became totally depraved and guilty of sin. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3; Psalm 51:5; Isaiah 64:6; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 1:21-23; Romans 3:10-23; Romans 5:12)

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other state or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm 139:1-24 (13-14); Jeremiah 1:5; Romans 13:9; Proverbs 24:11-12)

Section 7 - Salvation

We believe that the only way of salvation is by the substitutionary atonement of Christ by grace through faith in His shed blood to accomplish man’s redemption from sin and his reconciliation to God. (John 3:16; Romans 3:24-26; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:18-21)

Section 8 – The Believer’s Position

We believe in the sonship of all born-again believers in the family of God, their justification, sanctification and eternal security being fully provided for and assured in the finished work of Christ on Calvary and in His continued intercession above. (John 1:12, 13; Romans 5:1; Romans 8; Galatians 3:26; Galatians 4:5-7; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 2:9; 1 John 3:2; 1 John 5:11-13)

Section 9 – The Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, each in his own order; the saints to everlasting life in God’s presence; the wicked to conscious and everlasting torment in hell. (Matthew 25:46; John 3:18, 36; John 5:28, 29; Revelation 20:5, 6, 11-15)

Section 10 - The Church and its Mission

We believe in the Great Commission as the primary mission to the church, that is, we believe in the preaching to all the world of the Gospel of the grace of God, teaching converts to obey the Lord in baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, to remember Christ’s death until He comes in observance of the Lord’s supper, to be always careful to live godly lives in the world, and to pursue fellowship and ministry as an organized church. (Matthew 16:18; Acts 13:1-3; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 1 Corinthians 4:17; 1 Corinthians 12:12 -14; Ephesians 1:22, 23; Ephesians 5:23 - 27; Colossians 1:18; 1 Thessalonians 2:14; Titus 2:11-15)

Section 11 - The Future

We believe in the imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in the air to receive His church unto Himself. (John 14:3; 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52; 1 Thessalonians 4:13 - 18; Titus 2:13)

Section 12 – Separation

Our church is independent and unaffiliated and we stand firm on our doctrinal statement without compromise. We will not cooperate with any other individual or group which practices doctrinal compromise. We oppose the ecumenical movement of today and reject the National and World Council of Churches as representatives of Christ or the truth of God. We are not associated in any way with the modern Charismatic movement. We believe that the temporary apostolic sign gifts of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning spirits, tongues and interpretation of tongues have ceased and are not being exercised today. We believe that they served their purpose in the early church but that now we have the written word of God they are not necessary. (Romans 12:9; Romans 16:17; 1 Corinthians 13:8-10; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1; 2 Corinthians 11:36; Galatians 5:9; Colossians 2:8; 2 Thessalonians 3:6,14, 15; Hebrews 2:4, 5; 2 Peter 3:17; 1 John 4:1-6; 2 John 1:9-11)
